Our Mission

West Side Community Organization’s mission is to advocate for a restored quality of life for residents, visitors, and the small business community and to advance safer and more compassionate policies regarding New Yorkers who are struggling with homelessness, mental illness, and drug addiction.  Our coalition provides a unified voice to our public officials to advance transparency, accountability, and action to ensure a safe Upper West Side for all. We are a non-partisan organization consisting of Democrats, Republicans and Independents who believe in compassion, transparency and action.

We want compassionate solutions where most at risk individuals receive appropriate attention, and those ready to get back on their feet have an environment more conducive to doing so. We are encouraged by our conversations with those inspiring individuals as well and want to help them thrive.
